Day 1: Arrive in Munich and check in to your hotel for 3 nights. Munich is one of Europe's top destinations with a mix of high tech and tradition, beer gardens and trendy night spots, outstanding museums, magnificent churches and palaces, lovely parks and gardens, a clear green mountain stream, the river Isar, running right through the city, superb gastronomy and fun festivals.
Day 2: Your day will start with a city tour, the Munich City Sightseeing Tour. This is an introductory bus tour lasting one hour highlighting the main tourist sites of the city. After the tour explore the city on your own or book an optional city tour. For the evening, visit one of Munich's beer gardens for the flavor of the city. Dinner at Ratskeller Restaurant.
Day 3: Today you might book an optional tour outside the city. One of the most visited sites near Munich is Neuschwanstein Castle in Fussen. This fairytale castle built by King Ludwig II was the inspiration for the castle design at Disneyland. This evening you may want to experience the famous Hofbrahaus for a Munich beer and dinner.
Day 4: Today you check out of your hotel and take the train to Salzburg. Just over an hour and a half away, you arrive in time to walk along the city streets for a feel of the birthplace of Mozart. Check in to your hotel for 3 nights.
Day 5: Start the day with the Mozart City tour. This 1.5 hour tour takes you by the famous sites of Salzburg, such as Mozart's birthplace, Mozarteum, Marionette Theatre, Hellbrunn Palace and Festival House to name a few. The afternoon can be spent shopping along the famous Getreidegasse, with its elegant and intricate guild signs hanging above the stores. Here you can find the famous edible souvenir "Original Salzburg Mozartkugel," a round chocolate praline. Dinner at K+K Restaurant am Waagplatz.
Day 6: You have the option to book a tour for today's adventure such as the Original Sound of Music tour, taking in the sites from the famous movie. Or maybe you want to experience the salt mines near Salzburg. Go by bus to the mine, and then go underground by train, slides and a short boat trip to the depths where the "White gold" was mined.
Day 7: Check out of your hotel and make your way to the train station for your train ride to Vienna. Your journey will take about 4 hours allowing you to sit back and watch the scenery go by. Arriving in Vienna, check in to your hotel for 3 nights.
Day 8: This morning you will enjoy a city tour of Vienna including Schönbrunn Palace. You will drive along the Ringstrasse and its magnificent buildings; see the State Opera House, the Hofburg, the Parliament and City Hall. In the afternoon you may wish to just sit and relax in a Viennese coffee shop people watching. Dinner at Piaristenkeller Restaurant. If package starts on Sunday then dinner is on the evening of Day 9.
Day 9: Your last full day in Vienna gives you options. You may wish to go shopping in this cosmopolitan city this morning. A good last night event to consider is Viennese Serenade and Grinzing. This tour includes a ride on the Giant Ferris Wheel in the Prater, dinner and entertainment featuring Vienesse songs and operettas at a Huerigen show.
Day 10: Your Munich, Salzburg and Vienna experience comes to an end after breakfast. Return home, or continue on to another independent vacation!
